DVD Shrink is a program for DVD backup discs. You can use this program in conjunction with the DVD burning program of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disc.

DVDCrack will also burn your backup DVD, if you install the latest version of Nero. If you already own an alternative burning software and prefer to stick to it, then you can still use the DVD shrink. The output from DVDChrank can be saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn with the program of your choice.

Why use DVDChrank?

Most DVDs are designed to prevent you from making copies.

The first precaution is encryption. DVD's commercial titles are often encrypted, preventing you from copying them to your hard drive, or if you manage to do so, you will be able to run the resulting files. DVDRecovery overcomes this problem with built-in decoding algorithms.

The following problem is not very easy. Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, on a single DVD-R disc for recording. DVDChrank overcomes this problem by compressing or "shrinking" the data from the original DVD.
